The shipyard, which specializes in the construction of sailing and motor yachts in the neo-classical style, had been placed in recovery on June 02, 2021, to allow its director, Romuald Tuffery, to find new financial partners . The approach does not seem to have been successful. When asked about the presence of potential buyers for the company's assets, the management did not wish to reply.
A shipyard recovery compromised by the Covid crisis
Established for many years, the shipyard founded by Franck Roy had a good image in the field of neo-classical yachts. The Morgann and Solenn series yachts had built up a nice fleet. In November 2019, Franck Roy wished to retire and gave the company to Romuald Tuffery, a young entrepreneur, who was already at the head of a computer company. Unfortunately, the crisis related to the Covid-19 pandemic invites itself in March 2020 and the shipyard, taken over through a new company, cannot benefit from the state aid reserved for companies with a minimum of anteriority. At the same time, the absence of boat shows limits the commercial work and the implementation of the strategy wanted by the buyer. In June 2021, Romuald Tuffery, at the time of the receivership, drew up a difficult balance sheet. "The objective was to produce four boats over the year and we only made one and a half He wanted to protect the company and its 8 employees. "The idea of this receivership is to have some breathing space and to give ourselves a few months to win orders. This will allow us to hold on until the trade shows in September-October 2021," said the manager.
