The European Boating Association EBI renews its board

The European Boating Industry (EBI) has renewed its board and established new partnerships for its international influence.

Renewal of the EBI Board

European Boating Industry (EBI), the European association that gathers the different national structures representing the boating and yachting industry, held its second general assembly online for the year 2021. On this occasion, it returned to its main actions carried out since the beginning of the year, insisting on its role in the preparation of the boating season, in lobbying against trade taxes imposed between the United States and the European Union on certain boating products, or in managing the consequences of the Brexit on yachting on both sides of the Channel.

A new board was elected for the next two years. The Frenchman Jean-Pierre Goudant, on behalf of the Federation of Nautical Industries (FIN) was renewed as president of the association until 2023. He is supported by :

  • Carlos Sanlorenzo, on behalf of the Spanish association ANEN, as Vice President and Treasurer
  • Anne-Marie Bouweraerts, on behalf of the Belgian association Nautibel, as vice-president
  • Piero Formenti, on behalf of the Italian association Confindustria Nautica
  • Jurij Korenc, on behalf of the Slovenian association SMIA
  • Robert Marx, on behalf of the German association BVWW
  • Christopher Scott, on behalf of the Polish association Polboat

A desire for international openness

In order to strengthen its international image and to reinforce its role as an interlocutor with the institutions, EBI announces the arrival of 2 new associate members, International Boat Industry and the Israel Marine Innovation Association (ISMAI). "We are very pleased to welcome 2 new associate members, both of whom offer EBI international and business-oriented perspectives on how the industry can continue to grow" concludes Jean-Pierre Goudant.
