The Nautical Industries Federation in 2020
After the General Assembly of the Federation of Nautical Industries (FIN) was held online on June 3, 2021, the association of yachting professionals has released its annual report. The environmental challenges of boating
After recalling the key figures for the French yachting industry for the 2018-2019 period, as well as the actions carried out by FIN to deal with the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic (relaying to institutions, preparing for the 2020 season and creation of the Virtual Nautic to compensate for the cancellation of boat shows ...), the association comes back on its actions in the field of environmental issues, such as end-of-life boat management systems for the boating industry the structuring of the recreational boat dismantling industry, the recycling of materials or organized anchorages on the posidonia meadows.
The local missions of the FIN are also mentioned, through the support to overseas professionals impacted by the boat rental crisis linked to the pandemic, the renewal of the partnership with the Southern Region or the support of the Occitanie Region for its specific recovery plan for the nautical industry .
Nautical employment, regulations and training
The FIN also returns on the negotiations carried out in its role of employers' union of the nautical industry. The signing of the new collective agreement for the nautical sector is the major event. Institutional partnerships with Voies Navigables de France and the European Boating Industry are highlighted, as well as an increasing involvement in tourism issues.
The association lists the current themes in the field of regulation: standard on styrene, reflection on the pre-sale diagnosis, revision of the european yachting directive management of the end of the AOT for the professionals of the nautical industry on the public domain, VAT on rented boats .
The federation emphasizes the increase in the number of nautical trade campuses and high schools. In November 2020, it launched a GEPC survey (management of jobs and skills) to forecast the need for staff in the trades of deckhand, carpenter, composite operator, electrician and mechanic. The FIN is also working with the national education authorities on the renovation of the Nautical Maintenance Bac Pro.
