Hy-Generation highlighted at the Olympic Games
The company Hy-Generation has been developing a shaftless electric thruster system with a permanent magnet system since 2015. After several prototypes, it has started the commercialization of its serial product in the summer of 2020. The innovative motor could now get a nice boost from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. As part of the preparations for the event, Ile de France Mobilités, the region's transport authority, has just selected Hy-Génération as one of the candidates for its competition to showcase French innovations, particularly around sustainable mobility. "They will give us visibility during the event and let us meet their partners. The details are still being worked out. The aim is to develop projects with boats on the Seine, such as transporting athletes and visitors. Exchanging ideas with the federations that organize the events, as is the case for rowing. This can also advance projects that we have already started, for example with Greenriver," says Rémi Champeaux, founder of the company and inventor of the RIM6 propeller.
Fundraising to accelerate sales of electric thrusters
Hy-Génération is also counting on the media coverage given to its electric thrusters to boost its fundraising. "It's one of the news of the moment. This fundraising will allow us to accelerate our commercial development. We will be able to produce larger series of thrusters and have more in stock for demonstrations. We want to become a real economic player and not just a technical one" explains Rémi Champeaux.
The company had a great success during its pre-orders at the end of the year 2020. It has thus completed its first small series, the engines of which are being delivered. Satisfied with the technical results, it must now increase the volumes to be able to pass to a more industrial stage.
