Loire-Atlantique Nautisme takes over the management of Pornic's ports
On Wednesday, May 19, 2021, the official signing of the new public service delegation contract (DSP) for the management of Pornic's marinas was held. The new contract links the Syndicat Mixte Les Ports de Loire-Atlantique, created on January 1, 2020, owner of the harbor basins, to its new operator, Loire-Atlantique Nautisme (LAN), SAS founded in January 2021. The latter's shareholders are the Nantes Saint-Nazaire Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the SAEML Loire-Atlantique Pêche et Plaisance. The new delegation, which will begin on January 1, 2022, brings together the two basins of the seaside resort, the modern marina of La Noëveillard on the one hand and Vieux Port-Gourmalon on the other, which have been operated separately until now. For a better follow-up of the contract, the Syndicat Mixte has chosen to shorten the duration of the contract from 50 years to 10 years, with an end date in 2032.
1st DSP contract for the young company
This is the first contract that LAN has won in its name. The company has inherited the management of five ports previously under the banner of its shareholders: Piriac-sur-Mer, La Baule-Le Pouliguen, Pornichet's beaching port, Pornic's old port, and Blain. With the port of La Noéveillard (950 moorings), LAN will bring the number of boat places under management to 3450. "This is the association of the 2 main port managers of Loire-Atlantique. We had already tested it on the Old Port of Pornic and we want to accelerate our development" explains Emmanuel Jahan, director of Loire-Atlantique Nautisme, previously at the CCI.
Projects aiming to exploit the complementarity of the 2 port sites of Pornic are on the agenda. A revision of the DSP contract is planned before its term to adapt to the development project of the port called Pornic 2024. A consultation must be implemented between now and that date with users and public authorities to define the framework of the future port program.
