A marina redesigned for the uses of the 21st century
Following the awarding of its concession to the grouping of Eiffage, Sodeports and the Banque des Territoires, the port of Marina Baie des Anges will benefit from major works. "This plan for a port of the 21st century, which will be deployed over 4 years, represents 63 Meuros of investments, with the construction of a quay of honor, the lengthening of the seawall for better protection of the outer harbor, the resumption of all networks, the establishment of online services, the construction of service buildings, but also a building "Heart Marina" equipped with parking, lounge and coworking space for boaters. The first essential stage of remodeling the waterfront will be completed by the end of June 2021," said Ludovic Richard, head of the operating company.
Harbour places adapted to modern boats, with a guarantee of use
As a result of the work, the new berths meet the new sizes of pleasure boats. "A berth for a 12-meter monohull has been increased from 4 meters to 4.50 meters wide, allowing boats with a maximum width of 4.35 meters to be placed. We are also creating around 20 places dedicated to catamarans from 12 to 20 meters, which is very rare in the Mediterranean and on the Côte d'Azur," emphasizes the operator. The tolerance on the length of the berth is 8%.
The port manager is marketing new moorings on a guaranteed-use basis for periods of 15 to 30 years. "We keep more than half of the berths for rent, because our objective is to make the port more dynamic. The interest of the guarantee of use is to be able to finance it eventually with the boat in view of the current interest rates. We have a very adjusted price, among the most competitive on the French Riviera, and the beneficiary can benefit from the rental income of his berth in his absence" explains the director of MARIBAY INFRASTRUCTURES MANAGEMENT.
A selling point for boats
By being able to refer a client to Marina or by offering a rental space, acquiring a guarantee of use on the Marina Baie des Anges harbor can be a major asset. "For a boat dealer, the absence of an available berth can block a sale. By knowing how to direct his client to us or by being able to offer him a place to rent, the yachting professional can transform the purchase of the yachtsman" illustrates the new operator of the marina. The argument is also valid for rental companies that sell through management-rental.
