Collaborative innovation for the sea
The Ocean Hackathon is part of the global and French blue economy landscape. For its 6th edition, the concept remains the same: gather volunteers over a short and intense period to think, brainstorm and innovate around projects and ideas related to the marine environment in all its uses. Participants are supported by a panel of experts in support functions such as data science, IT, marine science or business creation support. They also have access to data sources from partners such as Météo France, SHOM, Ifremer, the French Office of Biodiversity and EMODnet, the European marine observation network. For the holders of innovative projects in the various sectors, including yachting, it is an opportunity to benefit from an outside view of their ideas and to create a network around their innovation.
18 cities will host the Ocean Hackathon 2021
For its 6th edition, scheduled from November 5 to 7, 2021, the Ocean Hackathon is taking on a global dimension. Experiments will be held in 18 cities in the United States, Chile, South Africa and Europe. In France, the cities of Boulogne sur Mer, Brest, La Rochelle, Sète, Toulon, Champs sur Marne, Fort de France and Nouméa will host the event. Project leaders must submit their challenges before June 6, 2021 on the dedicated website of the World Sea Campus, organizer of the event. A final between the winners in each city is scheduled for December 2021.
