Sentinel Domotics is on board on all Fountaine-Pajot boats
Yacht Sentinel, a British marine equipment manufacturer, has announced the signing of an original equipment contract with the Fountaine-Pajot shipyard. All of the shipyard's multihulls will benefit as standard from the Sentinel Domotics solution and the mobile application developed for the shipyard in La Rochelle. Based on the catamaran's NMEA network, the product developed by Yacht Sentinel allows the yachtsman to remotely access all the data on board, such as those related to engines, batteries, tanks, temperature, humidity, wind, water depth, speed or GPS coordinates. The first boats will be equipped from February 2021. "We started exchanging with Fountaine-Pajot some time ago. The shipyard then launched a call for tenders to ensure that there are no other more advanced solutions on the market. Once we won the tender, we worked with Fountaine-Pajot to develop a connected application specifically for them," says Romain Devismes, CEO of Yacht Sentinel.
From Intruder Alarm to Connected Vessel
Yacht Sentinel was founded in 2008 with the aim of offering security and surveillance services for boats. Yacht Sentinel intends to become a key player in the connected boat sector. For its director, this first major OEM contract for the Sentinel Domotics solution marks the evolution of the company and the yachting sector. "We started with a security system, mainly an intruder alarm, for the yachtsman. Then with the return of customers, we added a camera to have a small video of the event. Today, with this big data solution that collects NMEA information, we go from surveillance to the connected boat. The application developed for Fountaine-Pajot gathers all the boat's documentation in a digitised version. The yachtsman can record his maintenance invoices and automatic alarms can warn him of upcoming revisions, as is done in the car. The Partner Platform for dealers facilitates customer support" illustrates Romain Devismes, optimistic about the development of this trend in boating.
