Kervilor takes over Docks / No Limit
After the resumption of technical maintenance activities in 2017 a boat maintenance and repair company from the former Kervilor-Vanek shipyard, Ateliers d'Olivier has just bought Docks / No Limit from the court bar. The company, which shared the site on the banks of the river Crac'h, handled the boats and stored them on the dock or in a hangar. All activities have been reunited since January 1, 2021 under the name Kervilor shipyard, which has been in use since 2017.
"We were able to take over some of the staff. The Ateliers d'Olivier, which are the racing and finishing division, most often detached from the yard, and the Kervilor yard, a division dedicated to yachtsmen and charterers, are one and the same company that now has 19 people," explains Olivier Michaud, the structure's manager.
A single point of contact for the yachtsman
The acquisition will make life easier for customers and the site manager. "It will give us more autonomy. Until now, for all the work, we had to go through Docks to do the handling. This will limit the number of contacts for the yachtsman," Olivier Michaud is delighted to say.
Improving the wintering offer of boats
In parallel with the takeover, investments are being made to increase the quality of services. "A new Manitou has already been purchased and new storage bers will be acquired. Work is also planned for the storage shed, which has become dilapidated. It can accommodate 30 boats under shelter, while the dock has a capacity of between 100 and 130 boats," says the manager.
The dry port offer of No Limit Docks, insured for the Compagnie des Ports du Morbihan, will continue in 2021 as before. "We're not going to rush the customers. Discussions will take place in 2021 with the Compagnie des Ports du Morbihan, to see if we will continue like this or if we need to change things" indicates Olivier Michaud.
A year 2021 under good auspices
The wintering business should be a growth driver for the Kervilor Shipyard. If 2021 gets off to a good start, Olivier Michaud is more cautious about what comes next. "We are not yet impacted by the crisis. It's the evolution of companies and employment that will give us visibility, since the executives of large companies are our customers. The maintenance books for the 2021 season are well filled and we have the dock to accommodate the boats. The questioning is more for September 2021" concludes Olivier Michaud.
