1st assessment of the virtual exhibition METSTrade Connect

METSTrade Connect trade fair

METS organisers have delivered the first figures on the METS Tade Connect digital day, the replacement for the international boat equipment show held on 10 December 2020.

Success for METSTrade Connect organisers

RAI Amsterdam, organiser of the METS Trade show, the annual meeting place for professionals in the marine industry, has unveiled the first statistics on the METS Trade Connect virtual event held on 10 December 2020. While the dates of the 2021 show, scheduled for 16-18 November in Amsterdam, which everyone hopes to hold in person, the insights into the digital experience of 2020 are invaluable as the Covid-19 pandemic could mark a turning point in the development of these offerings.

The main figures of METS Trade Connect are :

  • More than 4700 registered boating professionals
  • Over 1800 participants at the plenary session on the state of the boating industry
  • More than 1500 connections between visitors and speakers through the platform's functionalities
  • Visitors from 23 countries watched at least one video
  • The 5 most represented countries are the Netherlands, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany
  • The average viewing time per session is 14.37 minutes
  • Average of 85 participants per session

A powerful webinar tool

In addition to maintaining the link with visitors, the METS Trade Connect experience enabled regular visitors to the Dutch event to discover a facet often neglected due to lack of time: technical conferences. The round tables, which are on the agenda of the physical meeting, do not always fit into the busy three-day METS schedule. The digital event and its technical sessions are available until the end of 2020 and offer an interesting source of webinars. An idea to propose in 2021 for physical conferences?
