On the occasion of the retirement of the director of the Latitude 46 and Wauquiez yards, Christian Iscovici, the shareholder Experton-Revollier, is reviewing the organisation of his yachting division. Appointments and strategy, Alex Pinet, already at the head of Rhea Marine, tells us more.

At the head of the Latitude 46 shipyard since 2007, the builder of the Tofinou sailing yachts and of the historic Wauquiez brand since 2016, Chrsitian Iscovici retired on 31 October 2020. The majority industrial shareholder in these shipyards, the Experton-Revollier group specialising in steel processing, had entered the yachting industry with the purchase of Wauquiez in 2011, before taking over Latitude 46 in 2015 and more recently Rhéa Marine in 2018. It is the latter's director, Alex Pinet, who will take over the general management of the group's entire nautical division, recently expanded with the arrival of the towed sports boat brand, Method Boats.

"If only because of the geographical proximity between Rhea Marine and Latitude 46, which are only 100 meters away, it seemed obvious to the shareholders to bring the management closer together. We are also pleased to see the return of a former Wauquiez employee, Patrick Bloch, who will take over the operational management of the Wauquiez site in Neuville en Ferrain. He will also take commercial responsibility for all the brands in the nautical division" explains Alex Pinet, the new director of the Experton-Revollier nautical division.

Considerations for better boat production management

Each company in the cluster will retain its independence, as is currently the case. However, while the commercial positioning of small construction sites satisfies the new manager, he also sees opportunities to reduce operational costs. "The will is driven by business. Our brands are present with beautiful boats. And small structures are very present in the boating industry. At the same time, there is a reflection to lead changes, to make mutualisations. We are in an analysis phase. This will be done for the good of the employees who work with us. It will enable us to get out of the boats more fluidly, to increase our performance in terms of quality of finish", Alex Pinet explains.
