The company HydroSilex launches its ceramic protection specially designed for marine use. Its ease of use will appeal to both nautical professionals and yachtsmen.

Sprayable ceramic protection for boats

The HydroSilex brand has existed for several years. Well established on the automotive market, this specialist in sprayable ceramic protection has developed a specific formulation for the nautical market. The HydroSilex Marine has been specially designed for the marine environment, to take into account the need for protection against UV rays and salt water. Applicable on all types of marine vehicles, from yachts to inflatable boats, including semi-rigid boats and jet-skis, it is designed to adapt to all boat surfaces: chrome, glass, but also semi-rigid or gelcoat beads, which are more porous than the surfaces found in cars. Hydrophobic, it avoids stagnant water, protects from UV and offers a beautiful surface shine'' explains Theo Van Liefde in charge of the French market for HydroSilex.

Ease of application and durability

The operating instructions are simple. Simply spray the product on the surface and then wipe with a micro-fibre cloth. " This ensures a good distribution and avoids the risk of drips drying on the spot. There are far fewer application constraints than with traditional ceramic protection. It can be done outdoors, not necessarily under a shed. On yachts, crews can do it as required on the most exposed surfaces. There is a real time saving for the professional," stresses Theo Van Liefde.

The product, sold in 1L bottles for pleasure boaters, is also available in 5 and 20 litre cans for professionals. 1 litre is enough to treat the entire exterior surfaces of a 7-metre boat.

"Depending on the initial surface condition and maintenance, the durability of the product is 6 to 12 months. A low ceramic shampoo is also available to extend the time between applications. It is more durable than a wax and totally eco-friendly" adds the HydroSilex representative.

Getting established in boating

Arriving in France in 2018 in the automotive sector, HydroSilex wishes to develop its marine activity. A dealer network is under construction. Applicators are also targeted. "Saving time on the application of HydroSilex Marine allows real savings for the professional" concludes Theo Van Liefde.
