From kayak to motorboat
Estran Nautique was founded in 2017. The brand was born from Sasha Landolt's passion for fishing and her will to share it. " After 10 years fishing at sea on my kayak, I wanted to share this passion. So I wanted to combine the conviviality of a boat with the accessibility of a kayak, its ability to go anywhere. "This is how the young product designer designed with his wife, an interior designer, the Estran 650, a shallow draft boat (22cm in light condition), equipped with an 80 HP outboard motor, with a jet base. For the construction, he calls upon the Morbihan shipyard Technologie Marine, of Charlie Capelle. After some improvements to correct the youthfulness of the hull, Estran Nautique intends to develop the Estran 650 in small series, the deck design being made to order.
Designing a pleasure boat adapted to accommodate people in wheelchairs
The creation of a variation called Estran 650 PMR was the result of a meeting. " We got a rental request for our Estran 650 from a person who wanted to take his paraplegic daughter in a wheelchair "says Sasha Landolt. The starter base with its generous space at the front and 70 cm long side panels around the console made it possible to design a new version adapted for people with reduced mobility (PRM). " Civilian PRM standards are adopted. The access by independent removable ramps allows to adapt to all configurations. The wheelchair can be boarded from the beach by the 2 rear accesses or from a dock by the bulwark door. We want to fight against the hoist to hoist the person on board as a package and give him an autonomous access with his wheelchair. It is then attached to the boat with certified automotive type fasteners. We are working with Mobi45, a specialist in vehicle conversion. The lowered console makes it possible to offer the pleasure of driving to a boater in a wheelchair "says Sasha Landolt.
The study of the existing boats reinforces him in his project. " The more we look, the less we find. There's no such thing as a serial boat, it's always a do-it-yourself job "concludes the founder of Estran Nautique.
