The biggest meeting place for composite materials
JEC World has established itself as the leading trade fair for composite construction. The 2020 edition, initially scheduled for March 3 to 5, will be held from May 12 to 14 at the Paris-Nord Villepinte exhibition center. As in 2019, the organizers anticipate more than 43,000 visitors, from more than 100 countries. More than 1,300 exhibitors, representing all aspects of the composite industry, from fiber and resin producers to designers and car or aircraft manufacturers, will occupy 28 regional pavilions on 76,000 square meters.
Recycling and bio-composites highlighted
As has been the case for several years, the theme of biocomposites is gaining momentum. It is addressed in numerous conferences, illustrated by concrete cases and visits to the bio-materials cluster.
Waste management, reuse and recovery in the composite industry are also highlighted on the conference stage. Experts will talk about zero waste approaches, the circular economy for composites or the use of used bottles as an energy source.
Main events
True to its thematic organization, JEC will offer 4 exhibition areas, the Innovation Planets, to promote products made in the main application areas of composite materials. Aero and Space, Mobility, including automotive and rail, Construction and Industry, Sport and LifeStyle. The nautical world should be divided between the industry, which includes shipbuilding, and the sport world for beachwear and accessories.
An exhibition on 50 years of composite materials will trace the evolution of know-how since the 1970s. It will be completed by a conference of Professor Ignaas Verpoest, on Thursday, March 5 at 11:30 am, opening on his vision of the future of the sector.
Famous speakers are also expected, including Thomas Coville and his technical director of Team Sodebo Voile, Elie Canivenc or Franky Zapata, "the flying man" to talk about his crossing of the English Channel on his flyboard.
The space dedicated to employment and training, offering workshops and visits to students, is renewed for the 2nd time at JEC World 2020.
