Electric boat of the year: 3rd edition
The election of the electric boat of the year is anchored in the French nautical landscape. The Association Française du Bateau Electrique (AFBE) is holding the event again for the 3rd consecutive year. Through this competition, AFBE aims to promote and disseminate the best offers and practices within the nautical sector. In 2018, the trophy went to AA/Rock for the design of the SunWave 2 solar-powered cruising catamaran.
What are the criteria for applying?
Any manufacturer with an electrically powered boat or beach craft in its catalogue, which can accommodate up to 12 passengers, may participate in the election of the electric boat of the year. Candidate boats must be available on the French market. They must be CE certified or in the process of approval and meet the ISO 16315 electric propulsion standard. The yards are not limited to a single boat.
Method of selecting boats
The application form must be sent to afbe@bateau-electrique.com before 2 December 2019. A jury comprising a nautical personality, a member of the AFBE, a specialist journalist and a member of the FIN will evaluate the boat's aesthetics, its energy efficiency in relation to the technologies used, its performance, its equipment, its size / price ratio and the manufacturer's commitments to the electric boat sector. The public vote will complete the selection by 30%.
The Electric Boat of the Year Award will be officially presented on December 11 at the Nautic in Paris.
