The FFVoile supports e-sailing

The French Sailing Federation continues its commitment to the development of e-sailing and video games dedicated to sailing. It has renewed for a second year its partnership with the game publisher Virtual Regatta for the organization of an e-sailing world championship.

Bénéteau renews its partnership with the Yacht Racing Forum

After supporting the Yacht Racing Forum in Lorient, the Bénéteau shipyard is renewing its partnership with the meeting place for ocean racing and regatta professionals. The leader in French yachting shows his continuing interest in competitive sailing after the first season of the Figaro Bénéteau 3.

Sunseeker results up

The British shipyard Sunseeker announces an increase in its results. The 2018 sales of the motorboat manufacturer, which recently changed its CEO, amount to £299.8 million. Profits are £6.6 million. Gross margin increased by 39% over 2017.

Layoffs at Brunswick

The American yachting leader Brunswick had already announced 100 redundancies in its support functions in June 2019. The elimination of 300 additional positions within its subsidiaries, the engine manufacturer Mercury Marine and boat builders, has just been made public. It is expected to result in operational savings of approximately $30 to $35 million.

Wall Street worried about American boating

Boat registrations in the United States fell by 14% in June and by 6% since the beginning of 2019. The trend is worrying the US financial markets. The Marine Max dealer has lost more than 20% in one year, while Marinecraft, Malibu Boats or Brunswick manufacturers have fallen by 7 to 11%, in contrast to the stock market indices.
