Electric boat: a workshop to discuss solutions

"Energy and storage in the nautical and naval sectors" is the theme of a workshop organised by the New Aquitaine region and the Atlantic Cluster. On the menu: the technical, economic and infrastructure issues related to electric boats.

A workshop on energy and the electric boat

Recently created, the Atlantic Cluster, an association bringing together neo-Aquitaine professionals from the maritime economy, in the yachting and professional marine sectors, is launching its first events. In collaboration with ADI Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the regional development and innovation agency, it is organising a workshop on 12 June 2019 at the Musée Maritime de La Rochelle entitled "Energies and storage in the nautical and naval sectors". The event is aimed at professionals in the sectors to enable them to discuss the analysis of the electric boat market, economic developments and the necessary adaptations of the maritime ecosystem.

Round tables with electric propulsion specialists

Before an exchange over a cocktail and a visit to the Maritime Museum in the early afternoon, participants will attend 3 main highlights.

  • Conference: The dynamics of the market for electric boats and other alternative propulsion systems with the French Association of Electric Boats and Energy Alternatives.
  • Round table: On-board production, storage, propulsion and traction solutions with the president of the Velox Esprit programme, representatives of the electric motor manufacturer Leroy-Somer, boat builders Zodiac Nautic and Construction Navale de Bordeaux and the hydrogen generator specialist Watt and Sea.
  • Round table: The challenges of deploying charging and shore power infrastructures with Enedis, the Grand Port Maritime de La Rochelle, the Port de Plaisance de La Rochelle, Bertin Energie Environnement and the Sicame Group.
