Takeover of the Bénéteau de Brest concession
Nicolas Le Couteur will be the new manager of the Bénéteau de Brest boat dealership at the end of March 2019. The young man took over the buildings and the business with all the cards, including the USHIP store. "We have reached an agreement with Yann Rolland of Rolland Yachting between the Grand Pavois and the Nautic of Paris. It then took time to finalize the process," explains the new leader.
A return to the source
Nicolas Le Couteur used to work with his father on the Crozon peninsula with Camaret Morgat Yacht Service. He is now leaving the Camaret site, where he was director, to devote himself 100% to his new activity. "These will be 2 activities and 2 separate companies, even if there will be leverage effects and common synergies," says the new manager. "My parents moved to Brest in 1985 and managed the Bénéteau dealership and the USHIP store before selling it to Yann Rolland in 2008. I had been following these cases for several years. Yann Rolland wanted to refocus on his historical area in Morlaix Bay. I had already worked with him as a Bénéteau agent on the Crozon peninsula."
Development and development of services for recreational boaters
The Bénéteau de Brest concession now occupies 3,800 m², including 1,600 m² dedicated to buildings. Nicolas Le Couteur intends to modernise the premises. A 150 m² VIP space should be set up to welcome customers and work on quotations in a more user-friendly environment. The store will be reorganized with corner spaces, an emphasis on on-board comfort and the creation of a reserve. "Customers who come to buy important equipment appreciate that we can settle in with them. For the boats, we will make a showroom area with a bridge-pontoon to see the boats as if we were in port," adds Nicolas Le Couteur.
The buyer also intends to develop services to the yachtsman, beyond the sale of boats. "In particular, we are going to open a Bénéteau Boat Club. The agreement has already been signed," he says.
On the sales side, Nicolas Le Couteur has set a target of 60 to 90 boats per year, adding new and used boats.
