Charly Fernbach joins Bateaux.com, a career guided by a passion for being on the water

Charly has a strong desire to make you love the sea! This is why we welcome him to the Bateaux.com team so that he can share with us his passion for the sea and boats. With an already busy career, he was still missing that step: writing to share.

The crew of Bateaux.com is getting stronger. We have just been joined by a new major recruit. Charly is no stranger to the nautical world. This self-taught man has just completed 14 years of collaboration with the Structures site that produces the famous Pogo. Discover Charly's profile on Yacht-Club.com

The taste of speed under sail

Charly started sailing in a dinghy (at 4 years old, he was sailing with his parents on a Laser!). Very quickly he will seek speed, sailing in a sports catamaran and then during long runs in a sand yacht on the Normandy beaches. So much so that as a teenager, he doesn't fully understand "slow" monohull sailing...

To work in the boating industry

After studying business, some of which at the INB, he realized that only the sea could bring him serenity. His professional career will therefore always be focused on boating to give him the opportunity to go on the water. Sailing instructor, skipper for charter, courier, educator... in his various positions, he is always looking to share his passion. Likewise when he prepared the Pogo sailboats, or when he accompanied the customers to guide their technical choice, it was always with the desire to guide new members to the sea.

Taste the ocean racing

While working alongside racing yachts in the Structures yard, he also wanted to enjoy the pleasure of ocean racing. After a career dedicated to cruising on single and multihull boats, here he is at the helm of a Pogo 3 with which he will race for 3 seasons, refining his technique to win the Mini Fastnet and take 4th place in the Mini Transat in 2015. One more string to his sailor's bow.

From bar to feather

Having accompanied many journalists during their essays, it is quite naturally the writing that will allow him today to share his knowledge. Bateaux.com is happy to welcome such great skills for our readers to enjoy.
