The 1st BtoB meeting of the world yachting industry
The METS Trade fair takes place annually in Amsterdam. The world's largest meeting place for the nautical and recreational industries, it brings together all the professionals in the sector for 3 days. In addition to the equipment manufacturers' stands, there are many round tables and conferences. BoatIndustry draws up a non-exhaustive list.
METS Trade Breakfast Briefing
The METS Trade Breakfast Briefing, the opening breakfast, is held from 8am to 10am before the official opening of the exhibition. Reserved for exhibitors only, it is the occasion for a speech by a leading figure in the nautical industry and the presentation of the prizes of the DAME Award competition, the innovation prize of the show. In 2018, it will welcome Hervé Gastinel, President of the Bénéteau Group.
Demonstrations and conferences on materials
The Construction in Process Stage area hosts daily demonstrations of the use of materials:
- Epoxy implementation by Pro-Set
- Application of intelligent gluing methods by Scigrip
- Sandwich Sprint construction by Gurit
- Demonstration of sandwich infusion by Diab
Two round tables will be held in the Elicium space:
- "New Technologies and Materials to Help Develop New Products", November 13th between 13:30 and 16:00
- "3D printing is not a magic word", November 14 from 10:30 to 13:00
Advances in electric and hybrid propulsion
Half-hour presentations will be held at the E-nnovation Lab space on the developments of electric propulsion in yachting on November 13 and 14. They will be carried out by members of the sector's companies, from Torqeedo to Oceanvolt, Transfluid, Fischer Panda, Veth or Danfoss.
Conferences on innovation in yachting
The I-nnovation Lab space hosts throughout the 3 days of the show speakers from all the nautical industry to present their innovation in 30 minutes. Presentations will cover topics ranging from ecology in the marine industry to foil design and wireless sail sensors.
Innovation Theatre
A pump with integrated fuel sensor, an audiovisual system for superyachts, protection drones... These are some of the innovations presented at the Theatre for Innovation space on November 13 and 14.

METS Trade is an opportunity to create new business relationships and expand its network. Several informal events make it easier:
Exhibitors' Happy Hour, on November 13th between 6pm and 8pm, at the Grand Café
Waterfront drinks, dedicated to exhibitors and visitors to the Marina & Yard area, on November 14 between 4:30 pm and 6 pm at the Waterfront Café
