1st naval architecture competition in Nautic
After the Nautic Innovation Awards launched in 2017, the organizers of the Paris Boat Show are continuing their efforts to help imagine the navigation of tomorrow. For the first time, they are launching a naval architecture competition to "imagine tomorrow on the water". How will we go to sea in 2030? What goals will we pursue? Will wetting be a new key factor? these are some of the questions the jury is asking itself.
From concept boat to sliding
The competition is divided into several categories. The candidates will compete on different themes:
- sailboats up to 50 feet in length
- motor boats
- concept boats
- the slide
- the "interior" category, for all matters relating to life on board
Each participant will be able to compete in several categories.
Projects will be judged according to the following criteria:
- the audacity
- technical innovation
- the accessibility given to navigation by simplifying it
- the realism and feasibility of the project
A competition open to all
The event is intended for a wide audience. The organizers rely on naval architects, but also on students of architecture, engineering or design related to naval issues. Projects, submitted alone or as a team, must be submitted before November 8, in electronic format. Registration is done on the link at the bottom of the article.
Exhibition at the Nautic
No winner will be chosen. On the other hand, awards will be given to the projects that have most attracted the jury. The projects will be exhibited throughout the duration of the Nautic in the Prospective Innovation area of the show.
