Captain'Flit goes under the Click&Boat flag
Click&Boat announced the acquisition of its competitor Captain'Flit in mid-July 2018. The internet boat rental company bought the company's assets, including the website, customer and contact base, as well as the Captain'Flit brand at the bar of the Caen Commercial Court. Founded in 2015 in Normandy by Thierry Faure and Etienne Blondet, the rental platform offered a fleet of about 500 boats and employed four people.
Consolidating the Internet boat rental industry
Born in the 2010s, the rental of pleasure boats from individuals through specialized platforms has given rise to many start-ups. The sector is now entering a phase of concentration. After opening up to professional renters to diversify the offerings, we are witnessing a series of buyouts to ensure external growth. After Sailsharing in 2016, Click&Boat is offering Captain'Flit. " This takeover contributes to the consolidation of the sector and to our ambition to become the international leader in online boat rental. "explains Edouard Gorioux, co-founder of Click&Boat.
Concierge services
Captain'Flit stood out in the market because of its network of professionals who locally manage the fleet of private boats through a concierge service. " Click&Boat wishes to rely on the forty or so concierges by offering them the opportunity to work with us. The boats currently on Captain'Flit will be offered on Click&Boat. As for the future of the Captain'Flit brand, it could be revived in another form to promote the concierge service. "says Edouard Gorioux.
Strengthen the territorial network
Historically established in the Channel ports, the Captain'Flit fleet is a good complement to that of Click&Boat, says its founder. " It gives us a greater presence in France and strengthens our territorial network on the Channel coast. "
