A Breton association, but open to all
The Eurolarge Innovation association was created in 2005 in Lorient. In the wake of the development of the Morbihan port Submarine Base at the end of the 1990s, the Brittany and Lorient Agglomération regions wanted to help the offshore racing and competition sailing sector. Funded by local institutions, the cluster brings together business leaders in the sector from all over France. About sixty structures, mainly Breton, active from the birth of the boat to the activities of promotion, while passing by the construction, adhere to the association.
For the Brittany region, which accounts for 90% of national activity, ocean racing represents a real economic challenge. More than a hundred companies are active there.
Facilitate exchanges between professionals.
As Carole Bourlon, an employee of the association, points out,"The different professionals do not always know each other well. The role of Eurolarge Innovation is to create links between the members of the sector so that they can share and work together."
Technical Support
Eurolarge's flagship and popular activity, technical conferences generally bring together around a hundred people. Three appointments have already been scheduled, in January, April and November, concerning
- the energy management strategy in the race
- foils (balance sheets and evolutions)
- additive construction techniques.

Company visits are also organised to get to know the business of its potential partners better.
Partnerships with universities enable the development of new technologies.
Administrative and commercial assistance
Eurolarge Innovation also assists its members in setting up financing files, bringing credibility to projects through its reputation.
The commercial aspect is also dealt with by Eurolarge Innovation. The presence at international trade shows offers visibility to companies.
In partnership with Bretagne Développement Innovation, the cluster is also interested in diversifying its members. A presence on the JEC Composites will thus be proposed to reach new markets.
New projects and new financing
Carole Bourlon, who has been on the job for a few months, should soon present new projects. The association also seeks to broaden its panel of funders to continue to enrich its actions. Notice to decision-makers...
