A major event in ocean racing, the Vendée Globe is followed by the entire ocean racing community, as well as by all sailing enthusiasts. As part of the technical partnership with the organisation, the Adrena navigation software is made available to the race management. It serves as a support for the briefings and follow-up of the competitors and thus benefits from the media coverage of the race.
Credibility
Chosen by the Vendée Globe organisation, but also by 26 of the 29 skippers in the most demanding race in terms of navigation safety, Adrena is thus asserting its credibility with the general public. While the First and Standard consumer ranges together account for 68% of sales, the Pro range, used during the Vendée Globe, highlights the reliability of all the products.
Optimization and development
Adrena's operation on the Vendée Globe is also an opportunity for the company to continue developing the navigation software. A special function has been integrated to manage prohibited areas such as the Antarctic exclusion zone set up this year.
Skippers equipped with Adrena benefit in preview from the latest developments of the software in its professional version, such as the taking into account of sail change time. A special helpdesk is set up. The feedback allows the company to continue to adapt its product.
Other partnerships
In the wake of the Vendée Globe, Adrena will be a partner of Transquadra and The Bridge in 2017.
