40 years of history
The company was founded in 1976 under the name France Plaisance. Bought by April Group, it became April Marine in 2005. The recovery is an opportunity to diversify activities with the development of a financing offer in 2007.
In 2013, it won the Innovation Trophy for its 24/7 quayside and offshore assistance and breakdown service.
The company employs 65 people specialized in yacht insurance throughout the world. 59,000 boaters use the services of April Marine in 2016, making it the leading broker in the sector in France.
An expanding presence
Since the takeover by the April Group in 2005, the company's strategy has involved international expansion. Following its establishment in San Remo, Italy, in 2006, April Marine joined forces with Marine Expert in Canada, which enabled it to become the leading pleasure insurer in Quebec. The company is based in Montreal and Toronto.
Finally, in 2016, April Marine acquired Intercaraïbes Assurances in Le Marin, Martinique. The broker thus established itself on the Caribbean market, which is one of the largest pleasure fleets in the world. By relying on local expertise, it will thus be able to develop its offer of insurance policies for fishing, rental and vessels operating in NUC (Commercial Use Vessels).
