A record order
Launched in 2016, the Drakkar 24 is meeting with real enthusiasm. With a production target of 130 boats for the first year, Salvatore Serio, President of Dufour Yachts, announced an order for 100 units for the Chinese market. This confirms the relevance of the new model. Chinese importer Jetpon covers the entire coast, from Dalian in the north to Sanya in the south. It will equip sailing schools there.
A boat adapted to the market
The 7-meter daysailer launched by Dufour fully meets Chinese expectations. Easy to use, spacious and capable of accommodating 7 people on board, the Drakkar 24 is an ideal way to promote sailing in schools to a Chinese public unfamiliar with boating.
Designed by Umberto Felci, like the rest of the Dufour range, the yacht is designed to be reassuring for neophytes, while retaining a good sail area to guarantee sporting performance in club regattas. It will thus be a vector for the development of amateur competition.
Complementing the European market
While the Chinese order is for sailing schools, the Drakkar 24s sold in Europe to date have been mainly to private customers. The two markets are therefore complementary for the La Rochelle-based shipyard.
Approval from the Fédération Française de Voile (FFV) will enable Dufour Yachts to present its new model in clubs along the French coast, where the Drakkar 24 should also prove very popular.
